When members of a Christian church we know very well
the scripture that says, many are called
but few are chosen. We use it to tell ourselves how special we are and even
to set clear the limited value other souls in comparison with ours. In this way
we say we are the Lord's flock. The salt of Earth; A Light to world but rarely
we find someone who really knows what it means to be one of the chosen. We think
being baptized as Christians is to be part of the chosen but how many of us are
actually able to dwell in God's presence?
Dwell in the presence of God implies winning exaltation.
Being exalted in the kingdom of God involves becoming a god. Can any man do
this? What doctrine and theology books say is what we can achieve in a mortal
body, subject to the temptations of the flesh, is to be ministering angels. A
ministering angel is a minor god acting as underling of a superior God, the
Eternal Father. Scriptures say even the
Lord, Jesus Christ, minister in the name of the Father and He reached that
state before coming to this world. Gods became Gods beyond this world. Satan,
the god of evil also reached his state without living in the flesh.
Becoming part of Lord's flock involves overcoming the
flesh. One who conquers his flesh is no longer subject to the temptations of
world. Perversion can prevail on earth, anything can happen before his eyes but
he doesn’t feel the urge to be part of what happens around him. Can get mad
without feeling hate, can defend him without being prey to anger, can love without
falling in lust and can go after his goals without cheating or causing harm to
others to take the first place.
Who beats his flesh is free, totally free. That one is
in complete control of his mind, body and soul, but being one of the chosen
means more than that. Getting free of evil, detaching from passions and instincts
is just the beginning. It’s also required to charge soul with goodness, acquire
God’s values and virtues, who do not sin of omission. We talked before about
sinning of omission which is not doing anything wrong but not do any good either.
It is necessary to do right every day of our life in all circumstances. This will
only be possible
if we achieve virtue.
Virtue is the constant disposition of the soul prompting
to do right and avoid evil but virtue is not only benevolence. Virtue also
means chastity and chastity is not celibacy but loving without lust, avoiding
bad thoughts, vile instincts and passions. In other words, it means being pure.
To be virtuous also involves having managed to develop certain qualities. The
four Cardinal Virtues: Prudence,
Justice, Fortitude and Temperance which are the source of other virtues and the
three Theological Virtues: Faith,
Hope and Charity whose direct object is God. If we analyze the kind of personality
that someone who possesses these seven virtues should have we will understand why
the synonymous of virtue are Efficiency, Quality, Power or Power of to act,
Integrity of spirit and Goodness of Life and, according to the dictionary virtuous
is someone who has strength to obey God's will.
To all this we must add the acquiring of knowledge.
Let us never forget that the glory of God is intelligence, we must learn everything
we can. This doesn’t mean that we should all get a PhD before returning to God
presence but that what we choose for living we must do it with professionalism enabling us in
everything that allows us to be better.
Viewed this way being one
of the chosen is not just any thing. Baptism is not conversion. Conversion is a
process that can last many years for it implies a change of life. In fact, doctrine books say that very few of the
members of those churches where we all assure to be the chosen will succeed to
achieve salvation and even more, they say that most will get lost because to whom much is given much is required and who sins against a greater light
receives a greater condemnation. A totally fair punishment could say
because who knows God’s laws and transgresses or violates them on use of his free
will knows the punishment that awaits him and still do as he wants.
God’s kingdom is for the meek of heart;
Grant me, God, the strength to change what I can
change,
The humbleness to accept my incapability in what is
impossible for me,
The wisdom to know when I'm up and
The willingness to go on without fear, entrusted with you
all the days of my tribulation.
Muchos son los llamados y pocos los
escogidos.
Cuando
se es miembro de una iglesia cristiana se conoce muy bien la escritura que
dice; Muchos son los llamados y pocos
los escogidos. La usamos para decirnos a nosotros mismos que somos
especiales e incluso para dejar claro lo poco que valen las demás almas en
comparación con la nuestra. Decimos de esa manera Somos la grey del Señor. La sal de tierra. La luz del mundo, pero pocas
veces encontramos a alguien que realmente sepa lo que significa ser escogido.
creemos que habernos bautizado cristianos es ser escogidos pero ¿cuántos de
nosotros estamos en verdad en capacidad
de morar en presencia de Dios?
Morar en presencia de Dios
implica alcanzar la exaltación. Ser exaltado en el reino de Dios implica llegar
a ser Dios. ¿Puede algún humano lograr esto? Los libros de doctrina y teología
dicen que lo que podemos lograr en un cuerpo mortal, sujetos a las tentaciones
de la carne, es ser ángeles ministrantes. Un ángel ministrante es un dios menor
que actúa subordinado a las órdenes de un Dios superior, El Padre Eterno. Dicen
las escrituras que aun el Señor,
Jesucristo, ministra en nombre del Padre y El alcanzo ese estado antes de
venir a este mundo. Los dioses llegaron a ser dioses allende este mundo.
Satanás, el dios del mal también alcanzo su estado sin vivir en la carne.
Llegar a ser parte de la
grey del Señor implica vencer la carne. Quien vence la carne deja de estar
sujeto a las tentaciones del mundo. La perversión puede prevalecer en la
tierra, puede ocurrir cualquier cosa ante sus ojos pero él no siente la
tentación de ser parte de aquello que acontece a su alrededor. Puede
enardecerse sin sentir odio, puede defenderse sin ser presa de la ira, puede amar
sin caer en la lujuria, puede ir en pos de sus sueños sin hacer trampas ni
causar mal a otros para ser el mejor.
Quien vence la carne es
libre, realmente libre. Tiene absoluto control de su mente, de su cuerpo y de
su alma, pero ser uno de los escogidos implica más que eso. Liberarse del mal,
despojarse de las pasiones y los instintos es apenas el principio. Hace falta
además cargarse del bien, adquirir los dones o virtudes de Dios, quien no lo
hace peca de omisión. Hemos hablado antes del pecado de omisión que consiste en
no hacer nada malo pero tampoco hacer nada bueno. Es necesario hacer el bien
todos los días de nuestra vida en todas las circunstancias. Para que esto sea
posible es necesario alcanzar la virtud.
Llamamos virtud a la
constante disposición del alma que incita a hacer el bien y evitar el mal pero
virtud no es solo bondad. Virtud también significa castidad y castidad no es
celibato sino el amar sin lujuria, evitar los malos pensamientos, evitar los
bajos instintos y las pasiones. En otras palabras ser puro. Ser virtuoso además
implica el haber logrado desarrollar ciertos atributos. Las cuatro Virtudes Cardinales: Prudencia
Justicia, Fortaleza y Templanza que son el origen de otras virtudes y las tres Virtudes Teologales: Fe, Esperanza y
Caridad cuyo objeto directo es Dios. Si analizamos la clase de carácter que
alguien que posee estas siete virtudes debe tener entenderemos porque los
sinónimos de virtud son Eficacia, Calidad, Poder o Potestad de Obrar, Integridad
de Animo y Bondad de Vida y; según el diccionario un bienaventurado es alguien
que tiene fuerza para cumplir la voluntad divina.
A todo esto debemos sumar
el conocimiento. No olvidemos nunca que la gloria de Dios es su inteligencia,
Debemos aprender todo aquello que esté a nuestro alcance aprender. No significa
esto que para volver a Dios debamos todos ser doctores o profesionales de alto
nivel sino que aquello que elegimos como medio de vida debemos realizarlo con
profesionalismo capacitándonos en todo aquello que nos permita ser mejores.
Visto de esta manera ser
uno de los escogidos no es cualquier cosa. Un bautismo no es una conversión. La
conversión es un proceso que puede tomar muchos años pues implica un cambio de
vida y es más; los libros de doctrina dicen que muy pocos de los miembros de
esas iglesias en las que aseguramos ser los escogidos lograran la salvación.
Dicen de hecho que la mayoría acabara perdida porque a quien mucho se da mucho se requiere y quien peque contra mayor luz
mayor condenación recibirá. Un castigo totalmente justo podríamos decir
porque quien conoce bien las leyes de Dios y las transgrede o viola por su
libre albedrio sabe bien el castigo que le aguarda y aun así hace su voluntad.
El
reino de Dios es para los mansos de corazón;
Concédeme
Dios la fuerza para cambiar todo aquello que puedo cambiar,
La
humildad para aceptar mi pequeñez ante todo aquello que es imposible para mí,
La
sabiduría para reconocer cuando estoy vencido y
La
voluntad para seguir adelante sin temor, confiando en ti todos los días de mi
probación.
